For the last seven years I have managed and delivered the BFI’s regional film academy Get Inside Movies designed to help young people make their first steps into industry. The course involves mentoring a group of 16–19-year-olds through the development, production and distribution of a short film whilst providing insights into various roles and professional working processes.

I co-founded the Short Sounds Film Festival in 2017 to shine a spotlight on the unsung contributions of sound designers and composers to the industry. Now in its sixth year, the event has become an established fixture in the film festival calendar, attracting high profile guest speakers and screening the best of international short cinema. In my role as festival director, I have been both heavily involved in the programming of the event and raising funding from Bournemouth University and the BFI to ensure its continued growth and development.
